Cinnamon – Eat Don’t Burn

Mmm! Do you smell that? Who’s making cinnamon rolls? Ah crap just another one of those stupid candles!

What kind of sick joke is that anyways? You get all excited with the thought of getting a delicious treat and them bam! You realize there is no scrumptious morsel related to this odor more likely someone is using it to cover up a less favorable odor that eventually creeps in after the synthetic cinnamon smell starts to dissipate.

Sorry I’m done with my rant, but today’s spotlight is on a very special spice that works in so many ways I think it is incredibly important that it gets the attention it deserts…oops I mean deserves.

Cinnamon commonly related with over saturated desert cakes and false hopes everywhere, seems to have been a little misinterpreted over the last few years. Of course it’s smell that has been incorporated into so many strange chemical products does hold value as well but what I truly believe to be the future need for spices such as Cinnamon will be more closely related to this spices amazing ability to positively impact the digestive process.

We are now seeing a noticeable increase in the trend of childhood diabetes due to GMO corn based products and nutrient deficient, gluten ridden carbohydrates. Today’s and tomorrow’s children will need a way of combating this insidious disease without having to become dependent on the government approved drug dealers known as pharmaceutical companies.

“But type 2 diabetes isn’t just for adults anymore. The number of children and adolescents with the condition (most of whom are diagnosed in their early teens) has skyrocketed within the last 20 years, prompting the journal Diabetes Care to call it an “emerging epidemic.” While type 1 diabetes is still more prevalent among children nationwide, experts estimate that type 2 diabetes has grown from less than 5 percent in 1994 to about 20 percent of all newly diagnosed cases of the disease among youth in more recent years.”

“The medical industry produces full-blown diabetics simply by prescribing pharmaceutical insulin.  ** When pharmaceutical insulin enters the body, it poisons the pancreas, and the pancreas stops producing its own insulin.  This artificially creates a diabetic, who will be forever dependent upon the medical system and the pharmaceutical companies. **  The system is intended to be this way.  It is by design. ~ Paul W Kincaid”

Now I’ll put my tin foil hat aside for you rational people who prefer to see things in the simpler terms.

Typical patient with Type 1, or insulin-dependent, diabetes:

  • 3 pen needles/day for Humalog: $33.64
  • 4 lancets/day (for finger pricking): $14.99
  • 4 test strips/day: $123.59

Frontier Organic Cinnamon, Ceylon, Ground – 1.76 oz
$5
1.76 oz converts to 52.04 Milliliter
52 mils converts to 10.6 tsps
365 / 10.6 = 34.43
34.43 * $5 = $172.15 at just 1 tsp a day for year
365 / 5.3 = 68.86
68.86 * $5 = $344.30 at the recommended 2 tsp a day for a year

I’m no Mensa candidate but I even I can see the yearly cost of implementing this is roughly the same as the monthly cost of insulin without all the destructive effects on your body.

Now what does little ole Cinnamon have to do with this madness? Well as the saying goes in Ayurveda “Let thy food be thy medicine” Hippocrates (The Father of Western Medicine). Perhaps we are so still strongly drawn to this aromatic wonder because subconsciously we still know how valuable it is due to centuries of using it as a medicine? Just a theory I don’t have any articles to support that one.

But what I would love to share with you are two great resources on all the benefits of using cinnamon and how to make sure you are getting the right kind of cinnamon so that you can reap all of its amazing effects.

If you do take the time to read these you will note that cinnamon has a great amount of Manganese which was spotlighted in last weeks nutritional article on Quinoa. So when I look at it personally I can tell you that is probably why i have been drawn to this spice so much in my life as dealing with constant abdominal inflammatory issues I seem to naturally gravitate to things that provide relief.

Below I have provided the additional resources about the benefits of the tasty medicine so please do yourself and your loved ones a favor take some time out of your day and get to know this spice so that you can fall in love with it as I have.

THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU
