Went to church this morning

A service of one

Let my spirit commune

With the father and son

As I sat in silence

The words began to come

So I wrote them down

To share with everyone

 

I still my mind

In its feverish pace

Put my feelings

In their rightful place

A life of SERENITY

I do embrace

Our time’s to short

To live like a race

 

Far too often

I missed the point

Burned myself

Like the end of a joint

Then used the resin

As a means to anoint

Made my vice

A leader to appoint

 

Now I know

Why I felt so empty

How much love

Comes from hemp seed

My mind is weak

And sin so tempting

The strength I need

Only found WITHIN me
